A heartbreaking day for HiFi.
On May 26, 2018, David Wilson, long-time president & co-founder of Wilson Audio, has passed away. He has been fighting a virulent form of bone cancer discovered late last year.
Over 10 years ago, I purchased a pair of speakers and asked the owner what he upgraded to. With pride and a lifted chin, he replied “A pair of Wilsons.” After auditioning many of their loudspeakers over the years, I understood why. Wilsons are the most natural sounding speakers I’ve ever heard.
Although I’ve only had brief encounters with David Wilson, his strength, confidence, and passion have always been apparent. For over 40 years, he and his team aimed to recreate live music for all to hear and enjoy. As I was listening to the recently released Wilson Audio TuneTot, I wrote down: “Those involved in building these speakers knew how to focus on what’s important in music reproduction. It sings to the heart and seamlessly convinces the mind of a very special performance set before you.” They’re built by perfectionists – and it shows.
Thank you for creating my most memorable listening experience with my favorite pair of loudspeakers, the Alexia Series-2. To Sheryl Lee, Debby, Daryl, and the whole WSAE crew, we are deeply saddened by your loss and our thoughts and prayers are with you.
A great shame he/family/friends hadn’t heard of essiac that cured Ted Kennedy’s son ‘s incurable leg bone cancer in one month, after one leg had already been amputated
