But one thing is for sure, our emotional response to music is as unique as our fingerprints.

We know that objective measurements have their place, but we believe that the enjoyment of music is largely subjective. Just because a piece of equipment measures well on paper, doesn’t mean it sounds great to everyone. And that’s why we stick to good old fashioned listening tests.

Our methodology

At Audio Bacon, we put in the hard yards to find the perfect gear for you. We spend countless hours listening to products, testing permutations and even edge cases. Our goal is to provide real value to our readers and save you time and headaches when making your purchasing decisions.

The goal of our journey is to help you decide what makes you feel good. Whether you prefer tube amplifiers with unshielded silver wiring or the sound of single driver speakers with no crossovers, we’ll help you find your audio bliss. And let’s not forget the nostalgia of listening to vinyl and the clicks and pops that come with it.

We know that it’s easy to dismiss certain products as snake oil, but unless you’ve heard it yourself, you’ll be more constructive by actually spending time with these designs and do actual listening. The laws of physics and science apply, but unless you’re omniscient, you should question all your preconceptions. Not just in the realm of HiFi, but in life.

We believe there’s still much more to discover in the realm of psychoacoustics and that’s what makes this journey so exciting. So trust your ears, they’re the only ones that matter. Join us as we explore the depths of audio together.

At Audio Bacon we value genuine impressions from actual listening tests. Due to age, exposure to loud concerts, birth defects, and life experiences, no two ears hear exactly the same. There’s much to be said about the human emotional response to music. Given the fact we all listen differently, we feel these are just elements that can’ be quantified.

How is Audio Bacon funded?

How is Audio Bacon funded, you ask? Well, let me tell you, it’s all thanks to my secret stash of bacon-wrapped savings. Just kidding (kind of). But in all seriousness, my savings account is where it all started. The Google Ads you see on our website are just a drop in the bucket.

A few years ago, I said goodbye to my boring tech job and decided to take the plunge into the exciting world of HiFi. And that’s when Audio Bacon was born. And you know what they say, the rest is history (cue dramatic music). But you might be wondering, why “Bacon”? Well, it’s a nickname that my best friend gave me way back in middle school and it’s stuck ever since.

Let’s be real, life is short and we have to choose how we spend our time and energy. I’ve dabbled in many hobbies and passions, but nothing moves me more than music and the gear that brings me closer to it.

Creating great content takes a lot of work, from listening to gear over days and weeks, to writing, editing, and even creating videos, it takes a lot of time and effort that I could be spending with my family and friends. Not to mention, the cost of traveling and equipment can add up quickly. But your support and love for Audio Bacon is greatly appreciated! So please, keep the Bacon coming.
