Munich, Germany 2019: This year, at the High End show in Munich, May 9-12th, Nordost will be previewing three new, groundbreaking products.
Attendees will be the first to see, and hear, an innovative redesign of the Valhalla 2 Tonearm Cable, newly coined the Valhalla 2 Tonearm Cable +, as well as a cutting-edge new QRT Power Product, the QPOINT Resonance Synchronizer. Nordost will also be giving show-goers a sneak peek of the QSOURCE Linear Power Supply, which is due to be released later in the year. Throughout the show, Nordost’s team of product specialists will be located in (Halle 4) Atrium 4, room E114, performing demonstrations of these exciting products in a world-class system, featuring components from YG, SimAudio, and VPI, completely wired with Nordost’s Reference level Valhalla 2 cables.
Nordost’s newly redesigned Valhalla 2 Tonearm Cable + utilizes recently discovered breakthroughs in tonearm cable design, which enable it to exceed the performance specifications that high-quality analog replay requires. The V2 Tonearm Cable + uses four, silver-plated, solid core 99.999999% OFC conductors, arranged in a twisted pair design to create a left and right channel, which are individually wrapped in a silver, braided shield, to eliminate inter-channel cross-talk. In order to dramatically increase its signal speed, and expand the cable’s bandwidth capabilities, these conductors implement Nordost’s proprietary Dual Mono-Filament technology, reducing insulation contact by 85%.
The construction also includes a separately shielded, silver-plated bond wire which runs alongside the left and right channel. Then, to completely eliminate noise, Nordost has designed the most versatile solution on the market. Each Valhalla 2 Tonearm Cable + is equipped with two, detachable, silver-plated ground whips, complete with Micro Mono-Filament technology, allowing the cable to provide proper grounding, regardless of the unique construction of the components it is being used with. Using all of these technologies and innovations together, this reference-level tonearm cable delivers the most delicate signals seamlessly, while completely eliminating noise from the signal chain.
The Valhalla 2 Tonearm Cable + will be available at select Nordost dealers, worldwide, this summer. The suggested retail price is set at $4,999.99 USD for a 1.25 meter length. Additional half meter increments are $625.00 USD.
While best known for their exceptional array of high performance audio cables, the hi-fi industry also recognizes Nordost for being the vanguard for audio power products. Expanding on its highly acclaimed QRT range of power products, Nordost is previewing products that address electromechanical resonances and DC Power, to further stabilize the foundation of any great sound system.
Every component in a sound system has several individually resonating parts within them. When these electromechanical resonances oscillate concurrently, but not in unison, these discordant vibrations become a source of electrical noise, resulting in smeared, muddy sound. The QPOINT Resonance Synchronizer addresses this problem by emitting a subtle field which manipulates all electromechanical resonances within its immediate proximity so that they vibrate in unison with each other. For maximum effect, QPOINT units should placed directly under or on top of targeted components, such as solid state or tube amplifiers, digital or analog source components, traditional line stages, or modern digital processors. Incorporating Nordost’s QPOINT Resonance Synchronizer into your system will result in dramatic sonic effects, including enhanced coherency, greater dynamic range, more fluid musical expression, and greater space and ambiance in musical reproduction.
The QPOINT will be available at select Nordost dealers, worldwide, this summer. The suggested retail price is $749.99 USD.
Nordost’s new QSOURCE is the first Linear Power Supply designed specifically for hi-fi audio applications. The QSOURCE provides a stable, clean output of DC power at select voltages, while maintaining extremely low noise levels. The QSOURCE uses a top-of-the-line transformer with a unique circuit design to convert AC to DC power, while an internal QRT module smooths out DC output and removes electrical anomalies and noise artifacts from the line. To complete the transmission chain, Nordost has designed the purpose-built QSOURCE DC Cable, so that the new QPOINT, as well as any other DC-run components in your system, can be run by your QSOURCE unit. Whether used in conjunction with Nordost’s QPOINT Resonance Synchronizer, or as a standalone power supply for DC-dependent audio components, Nordost’s QSOURCE Linear Power Supply will bring new dimension to your sound system, allowing you to enjoy richer and more nuanced musical performances.
The QSOURCE will be available at select Nordost dealers, worldwide, late this summer. The suggested retail price is $2,499.99 USD. The accompanying QSOURCE DC Cable will have a suggested retail price of $259.99 USD for a 1 meter length. Additional half meter increments are $50.00 USD.
Nordost is excited to share what they have been working on throughout the year and encourage attendees of the High End show to experience these new innovations for themselves in Atrium 4, room E114 .
It seems as if the QPoint does the same thing the Setchi D2/D3 boxes do.
