CEDIA Expo 2018 – Show Coverage

Sony – Sony made their presence known with a giant and bright ceiling banner. At CEDIA, you won’t be able to miss, what we deem, the best giant display at the show – and best we’ve ever seen. These proprietary crystal LEDs are smaller than a grain of flour and have more “black space.” This enables a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and ridiculously deep blacks. The screen is pieced together with 360 x 320 pixels ZRD-1 display modules, which means you could build it however large you want. This display even covers 140% of the sRGB color space, has a 120Hz refresh rate, and outputs up to 1,000 nits. We revisited this screen multiple times during the show in awe. Clips of “Passengers” looked absolutely stunning…from every angle.

The SpectraCal C6 is the go-to colorimeter for video enthusiasts.

Clearview Innovations – The future is here – Watch TV while plucking your nose hairs with their TV mirrors.

Gamers are so spoiled these days. INSANE

Ring – One of the more cuter layouts at the show. We love their doorbell and camera products.

Logitech + Ultimate Ears

AXIS – Super sleek motorized shades.

Shadecraft Sunflower – This solar-powered umbrella follows the sun, has a charging hub, built-in speakers, a security camera, and more.

Monoprice – They’re growing their affordable audiophile and home theater offerings. They had new items in their Monolith line, including 4K projectors, in-wall speakers, multichannel amps, and more.

Dish Network – AirTV allows you to bring your TV broadcast anywhere. So if you’re in Japan, you’ll be able to still stream your home’s local news and shows. Works with Sling TV and other devices.

Some people just prefer the blue pill.

Monitor Audio – More focused on residential offerings at CEDIA. Displaying their CLG10 Garden compact subwoofer with convex dome driver and their Vector V240-LV speaker system.

McIntosh – Debuts a new line of custom install products and had a Dolby Atmos demo room with 11 in-wall speakers with four Sonus Faber subwoofers. As expected, it didn’t disappoint. The new MI254 and MI128 power amplifiers will be available in Fall 2018.

Electric Mirror – Another smart mirror that looks and functions in a pretty sleek way.
