McIntosh’s New MA352 Integrated Amplifier Doubles the Power

McIntosh’s second hybrid integrated amplifier combines valve charm with solid-state power

McIntosh’s new MA352 combines the organic fluidity of valves with the muscle of solid-state, doubling the power to 200 watts! See it first at RMAF 2019 (Homestead 4) and 2019 CEDIA Expo (booth SR-17).

Binghamton, New York, USA, August 29th, 2019: McIntosh, the global leader in prestigious home entertainment and ultimate-quality audio for 70 years, is proud to announce the MA352 Integrated Amplifier (£8,495).

Following the recent success of its first-ever hybrid integrated amplifier, the MA252, McIntosh has launched the MA352, an advanced design that doubles power output to 200 watts whilst combining the finest valve and solid-state design principles.

A proudly all-analogue design, the MA352 has a valve preamplifier section powered by a pair of 12AX7A and a pair of 12AT7 tubes. Its output stage is a direct-coupled solid-state amplifier that outputs 200 watts per channel into 8-ohm speakers and 320 watts per channel into 4-ohm speakers; twice the MA252’s power output and more than enough to drive virtually any loudspeaker. Dual-scale McIntosh blue watt-meters give an accurate readout of power output for both speaker impedances.

The MA352 has two balanced and three unbalanced inputs plus one Moving Magnet phono input (for turntables) with adjustable loading. A preamplifier output is available for connecting power amplifiers, plus the MA352 can also be used to connect up to two powered subwoofers.

Packed with numerous proprietary McIntosh technologies including Power Guard®, Sentry Monitor™, McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks™ and High Drive headphone amplifier with Headphone Crossfeed Director (HXD®), the MA352 also benefits from five-band analogue tone controls (each band adjustable by ± 12dB), Home Theatre Pass-Through, Power Control, Data Ports and gold-plated binding posts.

The unit sits on a stainless-steel chassis polished to a mirror finish; vintage McIntosh-styled die-cast aluminum name badges are affixed to each side. Blue output meters, control knobs, an illuminated logo and a black glass front panel with direct LED backlighting are also included.

The MA352 will be displayed in early September at the 2019 Rocky Mountain Audio Fest (Homestead 4) and 2019 CEDIA Expo (booth SR-17).
